What it measures
The markers your medical team asks for.
One selected biomarker per run, for up to six samples at once. Change the test kit and the same analyzer measures the next marker.
MYO
Myoglobin
An early marker of muscle damage
Myoglobin can rise within about 30 minutes of muscle damage and returns to baseline faster than CK. It gives the medical team an earlier view of muscle stress. When to take the sample is decided by the team physician.
CORTISOL
Cortisol
A stress hormone, measured on site
Cortisol is one of the markers sports-science staff follow over time. A single value does not tell you how an athlete is recovering, so teams look at individual trends together with training load and other data.
hs-cTnI
Troponin I, high-sensitivity
A cardiac marker for the team physician
High-sensitivity cardiac troponin I runs on the same analyzer with its own test kit. The result is interpreted by the physician together with symptoms and history.
How it works
From a drop of blood to a result in about ten minutes.
No external lab and no courier. The whole workflow fits on one table.
- 01
Take 50 µL of blood
Whole blood from a fingertip or an earlobe. One sample is enough for one test.
- 02
Load up to six test discs
Each single-use disc carries one sample and an ID label. Up to six discs run together, one biomarker for the whole group.
- 03
Read the result on screen
After about ten minutes the results appear on the touchscreen.
Test kits
Test kits that don't need a fridge.
Each box holds ten single-use tests. The kits are stored between 2 and 25 °C and travel with the analyzer, from the club to the camp and back.

Compare
Two analyzers. One StarLab.
They use different technologies, so they come as two separate analyzers. Each measures its own set of markers.

| Method | Clinical chemistry on microfluidic discs | Fluorescence immunoassay |
| Markers | CK, LDH, glucose, electrolytes and more in 9-, 13- or 19-parameter panels | Myoglobin, cortisol, hs-cTnI, cTnT |
| Samples per run | 1 sample, many markers | Up to 6 samples, one marker |
| Sample volume | 100 µL whole blood, serum or plasma | 50 µL whole blood |
| Time to result | 7–13 minutes | About 10 minutes |
The two markers describe different time windows. Myoglobin can rise within about 30 minutes of muscle damage, while CK rises later and can stay elevated for several days.
Where teams use it
Built for the way teams work.
Match day
Test the group after the match without sending samples to an external lab.
Training camps
Follow markers across double sessions when the nearest hospital lab is far away.
National team travel
Compact enough to travel with the team’s medical equipment.
Sports science
Collect repeatable data on your own athletes for research protocols.

FAQ
Questions teams ask us.
What does StarLab Hormones & Proteins measure?
Myoglobin, cortisol, high-sensitivity cardiac troponin I (hs-cTnI) and cardiac troponin T (cTnT). Each run measures one selected biomarker in up to six samples.
How is it different from StarLab Biochem?
StarLab Biochem runs clinical chemistry panels, including CK, for one sample at a time. StarLab Hormones & Proteins is an immunoassay analyzer that measures one marker in up to six samples at once. They use different technologies and come as two separate analyzers.
Why measure myoglobin if we already track CK?
The two markers describe different time windows. Myoglobin can rise within about 30 minutes of muscle damage and returns to baseline faster than CK. CK rises later and can stay elevated for several days. When to take each sample is decided by the team physician.
Can cortisol tell us how an athlete is recovering?
Not on its own. A single cortisol value is not a measure of recovery. Teams that follow cortisol look at each athlete’s trend over time together with training load and other data.
How many samples can we run at once, and how long does it take?
Up to six samples per run, with results in about ten minutes. A squad of 24 players needs four runs for one biomarker.
What sample is needed?
50 µL of whole blood per test. It can be taken from a fingertip or an earlobe.
Do the test kits need refrigeration?
No. Test kits are stored between 2 and 25 °C and have a shelf life of 12 months, so they travel with the team without a cold chain.
How many tests are in a kit?
Each kit box contains ten single-use tests. Larger packs can be quoted for the season volume you plan.
How do we get a price?
Send a request through the form below and tell us which markers you need, how many athletes and how often you plan to test. We will reply with a quote for the analyzer and the test kits.
